Q: Does ARF pick up stray cats and dogs, puppies and kittens?
A: NO. ARF is not Animal Control. If you see a stray animal you need to
call Animal Control as they get PAID to do this job.
Q: How does one report animal abuse or neglect?
A: ARF suggests you contact the Illinois Department of Agriculture Bureau of
Animal Welfare
P.O. Box 19281
State Fairgrounds
Springfield, IL 62794-9281
1-800-273-4763 (Illinois callers only)
All calls can be made in confidence.
You can also contact your local police department or an Illinois approved

laws.
Q: How does one get a spay or neuter voucher?
A: There are several ways to request a spay or neuter voucher: visit
www.arfcares.org and fill out a voucher request form ONLINE, contact an ARF
member or officer, write to ARF at P.O. Box 324, Fairfield IL.
Q: Who can receive a voucher?
A: A person residing in Wayne County. Although we do not ask your financial
status or require this kind of information, we do ask that you only request
a voucher if you can't afford to pay for the spay or neuter on your own. We
have many people who are on a very low or limited income and we would like
to serve those people. Please only request a voucher if you need the
financial assistance.
Q: Does ARF get paid to provide their services to Wayne County?
A: NO. ARF is an all-volunteer, not-for-profit, 501 (c) 3 organization. We
have no paid volunteers and do not receive any money from the city, county

A: 100% of our money comes from FUNDRAISING, MEMBERSHIPS and DONATIONS. We
receive no money from the city, county, state or federal government.
Q: How long will it take for someone to get back to me?
A: Because we are an all-volunteer organization, please allow 3-5 days for a
return call or contact. Our volunteers have families, jobs, pets and other
commitments. We make every attempt to contact you as soon as we can.
Q: Who can join ARF and who can volunteer?
A: Anyone! ARF is open to everyone. We are always in need of volunteers to
help our animal friends!
Q: When are the ARF meetings?
A: The second Thursday of the months of January , April, July, and
October at 6:00 p.m., Jemini Coffee House, downtown
Fairfield IL. Everyone is welcome to attend!
I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can
do, or any kindness or abilities that I can show to any fellow creature, let
me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this
way again.
