ARF Founder Teresa Bullard writes, "Although we had the numbers available and were on our way to the U of I Vet Hospital with our beloved red boy, it was too late to save our Cinnamon. He would want us to share the following information with others with the hopes it might save an animals life."

We recommend you check with your own veterinarian as well and ask if they see their own emergencies.
Some questions to think about in case of an emergency:
- What happens if you need your Veterinarian after hours? On the weekends?
- In the middle of the night?
- Do they have blood products available?
- Do they have x-ray and ultrasound capabilities available?
- Do they have a blood donor service available?
We lost our boy in the middle of the night. One emergency clinic did not have any blood for a transfusion available and stated it had been on back order for a week.
Ask questions! Be prepared!
Perhaps your own pet could be a donor. We hope you don't ever need the above numbers but they are provided to you in case you do.
If you have a submission for this page, please email arfcares@arfcares.org and we will list the information.
