Animals Requesting Friends was founded on September 28, 2000 by Teresa Bullard and Tonya Link

We are proud to list some of our benevolent efforts, events and activities below.

Spay/Neuter Voucher Program

Kiwanis Christmas Parade spreading our message of "No more homeless pets! Spay or Neuter!" Issued approximately TWO HUNDRED spay or neuter vouchers and will continue  as funds are available!
Big Mike Action Auction donating spay/neuter vouchers and related materials.  WFIW/WOKZ radio auction by donating spay/neuter vouchers and ARF t-shirts.
Donated spay/neuter vouchers for those who correctly identified the mystery photo on WFIW/WOKZ webpage. In February (in cooperation with Doris Day's Spay Day USA), we offer a coupon towards a spay/neuter in the Wayne County Press for all residents of Wayne County who choose to participate.

We assist Animals in Need

Donated dog and cat food to The Sims Rebekahs to help aid in their generous efforts to help those in need. Advocate for pets in need
Act on reports of abuse and neglect calls and contacts regarding pets in our county. Donated over 2000  pounds of dog and cat food to pets in need.
15 dog houses full of straw to dogs who where either without shelter or with inadequate shelter.  This is  known as ARF's "Put a Roof over your Woof" program. Loan out pet porters/crates, crate-training information, puppy and adult dog training videos and cat care information.
Continuously run public service announcements both on the radio and newspaper with educational messages on how to be a better and more responsible animal guardian/owner. Stay abreast current laws, regulations, animal health and welfare tips and
pass this information on to individuals, groups and our community to help
them better understand and care for their animal friends!
Network with humane animal welfare organizations and similar to save animal lives! Assisted in the adoption of many needy pets to help them find "forever" homes.
Joined efforts with The Clothesline to aid victims of the April 21, 2002 tornado in Wayne County by purchasing canned and dry dog and cat food along with water and food dishes for victims and their pets.    We have also made available pet porters available to these victims of the tornado.
