We are actively looking for new volunteers!!!

ARF makes it as easy as possible for you to "Help us help the animals!"
Most
of the volunteer opportunities can be done from the comfort of your
own home! ARF will provide all supplies unless you choose to donate
some or all of them.
We understand that time is limited…we
understand that everyone has jobs, family, friends, and other
commitments. We all have the same commitments! Everyone that works
with ARF is a volunteer. That’s why we need your help!
All
ages are welcome to participate!

Volunteer Recruitment
and Management
Volunteer Coordinator
Help us recruit volunteers!
Organize and maintain an up to date list of volunteers.
Volunteer management - finding their cliques and putting them to
work!
Administrative
Create Handouts and Literature!
ARF
stays abreast of dog and cat facts and other aspects of
responsible pet guardianship.
Surf reputable internet sites and review ARF mail received from
reputable animal welfare organizations! e.g. How to Crate Train
Your Dog.
Mail and/or compile packets of information for guardians that
want learn more about caring for their cat or dog (especially as
an alternative to giving up the animal!!!)
Web searching
Search the web
for the latest information on pet care and
spay/neuter information.
Basic secretary work
Assist with office tasks like typing and filing.
Merchandise
Coordinator
Organize and maintain ARF
fundraising merchandise for resale.
Fill orders from webpage requests for merchandise - another job
that could be done from home.
Phone callers
Volunteers are needed
to reach membership by phone/fax.
Fundraising
Fund Raisers!
(we rely SOLELY on fundraising, memberships and donations!!)
Grant writing
Assessing, Planning, Implementing and Working fundraising
events!
Fundraising suggestions
Humane Education Program
Teachers, Teacher Aides, or
the like to assist ARF's Humane Education Coordinator and Program!

Compile and mail education
packets upon request.
What about creative ideas to help children learn to be kind to
animals?
Are you good at finding or making fun goodies or better yet,
letting the children design their own, while helping them learn
how wonderful our animal friends are?
Do you have a pet who likes to socialize?
Are you energetic? (well neither are we some days. we could
still use you!)
Local Hands On Opportunities
Cruelty investigators – rescuers
Help with legislative research and community involvement
issues.
Part-time liaison to local Veterinarians.
Assisting with
Annual and Local Events
Special Events Workers
Provide handouts and packets of
information for the ARF webpage, ARF public information bulletin
boards, WFIW/WOKZ Radio, the Wayne County Press, Falcon Cable
and Veterinarians e.g. Spay Day USA.
Pet
Adoption Days "Looking for a few good humans!"
ARF is looking for COORDINATORS
and VOLUNTEERS for ANNUAL events:
Pies for Ma's & Paws Bake Sale May 8th, 2005. Wal Mart
8:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m.
Halloween Hair Ball (a.ka dance) Saturday October 29, 2005. Volunteers are needed to
sell tickets, decorate, take tickets and judge contests!
Car Cruise Sunday. October 30, 2005 Downtown Fairfield. Sherri Evans
is the coordinator for this event but volunteers are still needed
as this is a huge fundraising event!
IN CLOSING
Remember
that we do not expect you to do it all alone. We have staff members
that will help you to help us reach our goals. No matter where you
live, near or far, with Internet access, we can find a volunteer job
for you.
Even the smallest
amount of time can contribute a large amount of effort in saving the
lives of these animals. If you have absolutely no time, then please
donate money to help us save more animals. Every bit of time and
money is important to the purpose of the organization—saving the
animals that we all love dearly.
