Animal Care
Be a pal to your pet!

" Not to hurt our humble brethren is our first duty to them, but to stop there is not enough. We have a higher mission - to be of service to them whenever they require it."

- St. Francis of Assisi

CARING for your pet is a HUGE responsibility, but the rewards FAR outweigh the work involved.

Caring means:
  • Spaying or neutering your pet.
  • Providing fresh water and wholesome food.
  • Providing lots of love! attention! quality time!
  • Providing a soft bed.
  • Providing toys and healthy treats.
  • Take your pet to a caring Veterinarian yearly for a check-up.
  • Provide heartworm preventative and flea and tick preventative as needed.
  • Not letting your pet roam.
  • Being kind, considerate and compassionate to your pet.
"If you have men who will exclude any of God's creatures from the shelter of compassion and pity, you will have men who will deal likewise with their fellow men"

~ St. Francis of Assisi

Canis Major - Much ado about "responsible dog ownership" it's more than just being kind to your dog

The Illinois Humane Care for Animals Act states you must:

70/3. Owner's duties

3. Each owner shall provide for each of his animals: (a) sufficient quantity of good quality, wholesome food and water; (b) adequate shelter and protection from the weather; (c) veterinary care when needed to prevent suffering; and (d) humane care and treatment.

If you do not follow the above "Owner's duties" YOU ARE IN VIOLATION OF THE LAW!

"I expect to pass through this world but once. Any good therefore that I can do, or any kindness or abilities that I can show to any fellow creature, let me do it now. Let me not defer it or neglect it, for I shall not pass this way again."

~ William Penn
